Description

The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) intends to award a sole source contract extension to contract HQ0006-02-C-0004 with SPARTA, Inc. Under this contract, MDA is acquiring scientific, engineering, and technical assistance (SETA) services for several deputates. This contract is being extended primarily to provide continued support to MDA Advanced Sysstems (AS) in the following areas: (1) engineering and algorithm development in the areas of advanced missile defense sensors, interceptors, tracking and discrimination techniques, as well as C2/BM concepts; and (2) development and management of the Decision Architecture development task. The tasks performed under this contract are integral to MDA's mission to design, develop, and implement a ballistic missile defense system within the FY 2004 to FY 2006 timeframe. In order to meet this mission, MDA needs to ensure that the period of the SETA support is consistent with the timing and structure of the overall MDA acquisition strategy and implementation. The period of performance of this action is for a base period of 12 months, plus a 6-month option period, with a total estimated dollar value of $30,000,000. See Note 22.
