Description
The Fleet & Industrial Supply Center, Puget Sound requires the following material for the Ship Repair Facility in SASEBO, Japan: A) Eight (8) Marlo Fan Coil Units, Explosion Proof, Left Hand (LH), Chill Water Connections, Horizontal (H) for Overhead Mounting, Part Number FCU-5E or equal. B) Two (2) Marlo Fan Coil Units, Explosion Proof, Right Hand (RH), Chill Water Connections, Horizontal (H) for Overhead Mounting, Part Number FCU-5E or equal. C) Three (3) Marlo Fan Coil Units, Explosion Proof, Left Hand (LH) Chill Water Connections, Horizontal (H) for Overhead Mounting, Part Number FCU-3E or equal. (D) One (1) Marlo Fan Coil Unit, Explosion Proof, Right Hand (RH) Chill Water Connections, Horizontal (H) for Overhead Mounting, Part Number FCU-3E or equal. All fan coils must operate on 440 volt, 3 phase, 60 hertz power supplied to a terminal strip located inside the unit cabinet. All fan coil unit capacities must be based upon 80 degree Fahrenheit dry bulb and 67 degree Fahrenheit wet bulb entering air and 45 degree Fahrenheit entering water. FCU motors must be qualified as Explosion-Proof per MIL-E-2036D. This equipment is rendered Explosion-Proof by use of the appropriate packing gland and pothead on the motor. In addition, the conduit to the packing gland, any switches or junction boxes within the area designated "explosion proof" must be "explosion proof" and properly assembled for the whole installation to be "explosion proof". Explosion-Proof FCU's must have a forced-air fan which circulates air. Fan coil units must consist of direct drive aluminum fans, two speed motors, per Mil-M-17059, cleanable air filters per Mil-F-16552, operational controls per Mil-C2212, three stage thermostat, thermal acoustical insulation and a chilled water cooling coil for use in connection with a chilled water system for air conditioning spaces to be installed in cargo ammunition magazines onboard an LHD-2 vessel. The procedures of FAR Part 12, Commercial Acquisition will be utilized. The applicable NAICS code is 333411. When issued, the RFQ will be posted on the Navy Electronic Commerce Online (NECO) web link "www.neco.navy.mil". It is anticipated that the RFQ will be issued on or about 3 December 2002, with offers due on or about 11 December 2002. All offerors wishing to submit an offer, are responsible for downloading their own copy of the RFQ from this website (WinZIP or other unzipping software is required) and to frequently monitor that site for any amendments to the RFQ. Interested parties may utilize www.fedbizopps.gov and request an E-mail notification by clicking on the "FedBizOpps Vendor" tab then "Acquisition Notification service" then "register to receive notification by solicitation number." By registering with this service, you should receive notification as to when the solicitation has been uploaded to the NECO website. PLEASE NOTE: FISC PUGET SOUND DOES NOT GUARANTEE THIS NOTICE. OFFERORS ARE STILL RESPONSIBLE FOR DOWNLOADING THEIR OWN COPY OF THE SOLICITATION ON THE NECO WEBSITE. No telephone or fax requests for the RFQ package will be accepted. An email request to brian_r_begley@puget.fisc.navy.mil will be accepted only in the event an offeror experiences problems downloading the RFQ from the NECO website. No bidders list will be maintained by this office. No paper copies of the RFQ and/or amendments will be mailed. Failure to respond to electronically posted solicitations or quotes and associated amendments prior to the date and time set for receipt of proposals or quotes may render your proposal or quote nonresponsive and result in the rejection of same.
