The following information is provided to assist the Air Force in conducting market research of industry to identify sources of commercial and manufactured items that meet Air Force requirements. This is neither a request for proposal nor an invitation for bid. The F-16 SPO Office is considering competing select modification kits and carries with it special requirements as defined, but not limited to, selection elements noted in the description. The Government anticipates this acquisition to be one hundred percent small-business set-aside. Please mail or e-mail qualification statements by 17 Jan 03 to either POC identified below. Description The Air Force intends to release a Request for Proposal (RFP) January 2003 for the manufacture of F-16 airframe structural parts (stock class 1560) and to assemble modification kits. The estimated contract award date is May 2003. This acquisition will consist of a one-year contract with 4 one-year options. The title of this procurement will be Falcon STAR (Structural Augmentation Roadmap). Major modification kit components may include (but are not limited to) plates, fasteners, flanges, radius blocks, fillers, doublers, straps, bulkheads, beams, webs, stiffeners, bracket assemblies, seal plates, and other aircraft structural components. Kits may include unique hardware requirements that will be incorporated with some of the major components into specialized kit formats.
