Description
The Marine Corps Systems Command, Program Manager, Infantry Combat Equipment (ICE) has a requirement for commercially available night vision compatible flashlights with most of the following capabilities or characteristics. The flashlight should be a light emitting diode flashlight not visible or barely visible by someone wearing night vision goggles. This item should have a maximum output comparable to that of standard incandescent flashlights. It must have a separate infrared mode for signaling friendly forces wearing night vision goggles. This flashlight must have Morse code signaling ability in both visible and infrared light. The on/off switch must lock to prevent accidental illumination. This item must be lightweight, durable, and shock resistant. Must be water resistant to 100 feet. The flashlight should be no bigger than a 2AA in-line or 4AA double-stacked flashlight. Must have the means by which to positively attach to rifles, wrist, or individual load bearing equipment. Batteries for this item should have a long life and readily available. Storage for this item should be dark in color (black, green, brown) and have a flat non-reflective finish. Vendors who believe they have a product capable of meeting these requirements are requested to provide information regarding their production capabilities, quality assurance procedures, customer base, business size, commercial pricing, a corporate point of contact, and other relevant information.
