Description

ISSUE DATE: 01/04/03. AWARD OF A CONTRACT WILL BE SUBJECT TO THE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS FOR THE NEXT FISCAL YEAR. Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, supervision and disposal necessary to modify sewage line at USCG Detachment Sandy Hook, Highlands, NJ (Monmouth County). Work includes, but is not limited to, the removal of the existing sewage shore tie on the east side of the concrete pier (servicing two patrol boats) and approximately 15 LF of insulated 4? piping connecting that shore tie to a 6? pipe on the western side of the pier. A new sewage shore tie shall be constructed and connected directly to an existing 8? sewage line on the adjacent wharf. A total of approximately 62 LF of pre-insulated PVC pipe shall be provided and installed by the contractor to connect the new shore tie to the existing 8? line on the wharf. Incidental related work. Estimated cost of this project is between $25,000 and $100,000 dollars. NAICS code is 237110. Solicitation packages to be available on or about 01/04/03. The due date for receipt of quotations is on or about 02/03/03. This project is issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, and is unrestricted. THE FOLLOWING NOTICE IS PROVIDED AS INFORMATION FOR MINORITY, WOMEN-OWNED, AND DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISES: The Dept of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are available under the DOT Short-term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The max. line of credit is $500,000.
