- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to negotiate a firm fixed price modification with Raytheon Company Integrated Defense Systems on a sole source basis for the support of life cycle cost initiatives to include upgrade of the Consolidated Automated Support System Test Program Sets and the Sonar Transmitter/Receiver processor and power modules, preparation and conduct of a weight reduction plan for the ALFS system, qualification of a second source for the reeling machine cable, and resolution of obsolescence issues for the transducer assembly. As the sole manufacturer and developer of the ALFS system Raytheon is the only source with the technical data and experience necessary to perform this effort within the time frame required to meet the government?s needs. Due to limitations on the Government?s rights in data, a data package sufficient for the competition of this requirement is not available. Note 22 applicable to this synopsis (sole source)
