Description
NA The U.S Army Corps of Engineers, New York District intends to use a sealed bidding method to award a contract for Kill Van Kull and Newark Bay Channels Navigation Improvement Project, Phase II, Contract 8 (Area 8), New York and New Jersey. This project co nsists of deepening of the existing 40 feet (MLW) Federal Navigation Channel System to a depth of 47 feet (MLW). The project area is located along the Southern portion of Newark Bay, South Elizabeth Channel and the Western end of KVK Channel. The project consists of the dredging and disposal of non-rock and the drilling, blasting, dredging and disposal of rock. The scope of work also includes the sampling testing of subsurface materials at locations. The non-rock materials unsuitable for the HARS placem ent will be disposed at an Upland Disposal Facility and Confined Disposal Facility of the Port authority of New York and New Jersey located at the entrance of Elizabeth Channel. No Award will be made unless Small Business Sub-Contracting Plan is accepted a nd approved. The Plan must address maximum efforts to utilize Small Business, Woman Owned S.B. Hub Zone S.B, Veteran Owned S.B., and Disabled Veteran Owned S.B. The duration of this project is approximately 365 calendar days. This Procurement is being s olicited as UNRESTRICTED. The applicable NAICS Code is 237990 with a Small Business Size of $17.0 Million. The SIC Code is 1629. The estimated cost range for this project is between $30,000,000 and $50,000,000. Bid opening date is on or about 14 February 2003 at 1:00 P.M. Bid opening will be held in room 1841 of 26 Feder al Plaza, New York. The media selected for the issuance of the synopsis/solicitation and amendments shall solely be at the discretion of the Government; accordingly, the media utilized for this project shall be the Internet and CD-ROM. Paper copies of th is solicitation, and amendments, if any, will not be available or issued.
