Description
The Government intends to procure through FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION the development and procurement of multiple Electro-Optical (EO) Systems based around a Mid-Wave Infra-Red (MWIR) starring array and an Image Intensification (I2) TV. This EO system is intended for navigation, detection, classification, identification, and designation of threats at stand-off ranges, surveillance, and targeting applications; it is not intended to perform pilotage applications. The Governmentis anticipating issuing a solicitation for the development and procurement of three types of EO sensor systems. Either one or two contracts will be awarded: all three EO Sensors on the same contract, or the small assault EO Sensor on one and the large assault and attack EO Sensors on the second. The solicitation will be restricted to domestic sources only under FAR 6.302-3; a facilities security clearance of Secret or higher is required. Anticipated award date is Mar 03.The first system is for approximately 50 light assault EO Sensors. The first flyable prototype would be expected 6 months after contract award, with first production units delivered 15 months after contract award.The second system is for approximately 100 larger, more capable, assault EO Sensors. The first flyable prototype would be expected 12 months after contract award, with first production units delivered 24 months after contract award.The third is for approximately 20 attack EO Sensors. The first flyable prototype would be expected 9 months after contract award, with first production units delivered 21 months after contract award. The attack EO Sensor shall be identical to the large assault EO Sensor with the exception of a targeting laser efinder/designator and laser spot tracker being included in the attack system.
