Description
This project will consist of asphalt recycling on 15.072 kilometers of roadway for CA PFH 105-1(4), Marysville Road, in Tahoe National Forest, Yuba County, State of California. Estimated price range is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Principal work items: Contractor testing, lump sum; roadway aggregate, method 2, 5600 metric tons; hot asphalt concrete pavement, class B, grading C or E, type 2 pavement smoothness (smoothness incentive), 28,000 metric tons; asphalt cement grade AR-4000, 2800 metric tons; minor hot asphalt concrete, 3100 metric tons; foamed asphalt stabilized base course, miscellaneous depth, 121000 m2; cement, lime and/or fly ash, 450 metric tons; pavement markings, various types 50900 m; recessed pavement marker, 3800 ea; traffic control 6300 hr; temporary pavement markings, 45250 m; along with associated surveying, staking, asphalt curbs, and guardrail. PLANS AND SPECS WILL BE AVAILABLE IN BOTH CDROM AND PAPER VERSIONS. Tentative advertisement date is January 15, 2003. All bid forms, bid bonds, and other documents required for the bid submittal shall be submitted to FHWA in paper format. Electronic format for the bid submittal documents will not be allowed. The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontractor at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
