- Description
- This project will consist of grading, drainage and asphaltic surfacing on 16.330 kilometers of roadway for UT PRA BRCA 10(3), Rainbow Point Rim Road in Bryce Canyon National Park, Garfield County, State of Utah. Estimated price range is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. Principal work items: 47.5 km grade finishing stakes; lump sum contractor testing; 17,500 m silt fence; 7,800 m straw wattles; lump sum watering for dust control; lump sum clearing and grubbing; 102,500 m3 roadway excavation; 8,500 m3 subexcavation; 9,500 m2 roadway obliteration; 1,440 m3 placed riprap-various; 880 m2 MSE wall (welded wire face); 275 m2 MSE wall (modular block face); 71,600 metric tons aggregate base; 2.1 km road reconditioning (various depth); 169,500 m2 recycled asphalt base course (various depth); 1,000 metric tons magnesium chloride; 15,600 metric tons roadway aggregate; 2,550 metric tons asphalt cement grade PG 58-34; 450 metric tons antistrip additive type 3; 44,000 metric tons Superpave asphalt concrete pavement; 300 metric tons minor hot asphalt concrete; 220 metric tons prime coat grade MC-70; 3,150 m (various) pipe culvert; 270 m (various) pipe arch culvert; 500 m geocomposite underdrain system (roadway); 1,500 m2 geocomposite sheet drain system (MSE wall); 3,000 m Portland cement concrete curb (various); 3,250 m Portland cement concrete curb and gutter; 1,600 m2 colored Portland cement concrete sidewalk; 440 m guardrail system SBTA; 365 m Pedestrian safety and secondary pedestrian railing; 8 each stone masonry headwall w/ stone masonry wingwall (various); heavy equipment operators; 18,500 m3 placing conserved topsoil; 22 ha seeding & mulching, each (hydraulic method); 6,000 L pavement markings type A; 16,000 hours flagger; 3,200 hours pilot car; other traffic control including 90 warning lights (types A, B & C) and traffic and safety supervisor. The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontractor at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
