- Description
- The Government has a requirement for professional A/E Services with Industrial Hygiene Services for Project #646-03-108H, Renovations for 1-3 East for Psychiatric Unit at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, 7180 Highland Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15206. The proposed area to be included in the scope of the project is 9000 SF. Services shall include investigation, design, preparation of working drawings and specifications. construction cost estimates, construction period services as the owners technical representative and reproduction of construction contract documents. This project will upgrade and modernize inpatient ward 1-3 east in Building #1, Highland Drive. This will include but is not limited to addressing patient privacy issues, design a secure inpatient psychiatric ward including security ceiling, improve patient bathrooms/showers, seclusion rooms with anterrooms, new nurse call systems, interior finishes, and video curveillance system. Also require is a complete asbestos survey/design and abatement as part of the renovations. Renovations designs will include compliance with all applicable building codes, and VA design standards. Prepare the preliminary plan and construction budget, develope working drawings and specifications for the 1-3 East improvements. This work includes electrical, mechanical, architectural, and site modifications. The A/E will provide four (4) design reviews which include schematics, 50%, 90% and 100% submissions. The design must meet all applicable federal and state codes/requirements, OSHA, DER, EPA, NEC, NFPA 101 Life Safety Code,etc. Construction period services are required which include but not limited to review of all submissions, review contractor's cost estimates, site visits, modifications and all items required during construction. As built drawings on original set with A/E stamp, based on record drawings. Transpose contractor's as-builts to AutoCadd Release 2000 and provide a set of updated as-builts and also on a computer disc. This procurement is opened to both small and large business firms. The NAIC Code is 541330 with a small business size standard of $4.0 million. Construction cost estimate is between $1,000,000.00 and $2,000,000.00. Award will be made to the A/E judged by the VA to be the best qualified for the work. See numbered note in addition to VA criteria. Area of consideration is limited to a 60-mile radius from the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, 7140 Highland Drive , Pittsburgh, Pa 15206. Award is subject to the availability of funds. This is not a request for proposal. All interested, responsible and qualified business firms within the geographic limitation desiring consideration shall submit three (3) copies of SF254 and SF255 to arrive no later than COB (4:30PM EST) 2-24-03 directly to the attention of Cassandra E.
