- Description
- The Coastal Systems Station (CSS), Dahlgren Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center is seeking information on commercially available, or developmental projects related to, small (i.e. capable of being moved and/or deployed by no more than two men), untethered, unmanned underwater vehicle mine neutralization (UUV-N) systems, equipment, and technologies suitable for mine neutralization missions in the Very Shallow Water (VSW) zone (10 - 40 feet sea water (FSW)). Specific areas of technical interest include, but are not limited to: ? Precise Target Reacquisition ? Countercharge Station Keeping in Surge Environment ? Neutralization by Overpressure ? Verification of Target Reacquisition and Countercharge Readiness, including Operator Feedback Signaling Capabilities ? Unmanned Underwater Vehicle Precise Autonomous Guidance to Target Positions ? Long Range Command Actuation or Com munication in Active Surf Conditions ? Enhanced Explosive Devices for Neutralizing Influence Mines ? Neutralization by influence sweeping (compatible with UUV systems) This is part of an Analysis of Alternatives study. Descriptive information is sought in the form of white papers, brochures, specification sheets, briefings, and company points of contact. Also of interest are concepts based on existing equipment or proven technologies that are planned to become available in the 2004/2007 timeframe. Demonstrations are requested and limited funds are available to support demonstrations; firms should indicate any interest or willingness to provide technology or system demonstrations when responding. Design proposals requiring developmental funding are not of interest at this time; this request for Information/Sources Sought announcement will not directly lead to a request f or proposals.
