Description
FCC Petersburg Complex is seeking a Life Skills Instructor to provide social values and responsibility instructions and leadership for inmates participating in the Bureau of Prisons Residential Life Connections Pre-release Program at the Federal Correctional Correction - Low, Petersburg, Virginia. The contractor will provide up to 18 hours each week of social values and responsibility instruction and counselings in conjunction with the core curriculum topic of the Residential Life Connections Program. The contractor will also provide leadership in the non-religious studies. The Contractor shall not exceed working 30 hours per week. A session is defined as one (1) three (3) hours per day. A normal schedule of work will be Monday through Friday, excluding Federal Holidays, 12:30 p.m.- 3:30 p.m. Any weekend hours required by the program needs will be mutually agreed to by the Contractor and Life Connections Program Chaplain. The work schedule will be changed, but will not exceed 30 hours per week. The award of this contract shall be based on the best value to the Government (price and other factors considered). The contractor will provide social values and responsibilities instruction based on expertise as it relates to the core curriculum materials. The contractor will work closely with the Life Connections Program Chaplain and other program staff to assist in the development of the program and to gauge the progress of individual participants. Consultations will be held with the Life Connections Program Chaplain as needed. Although the instruction will follow the tenants of social values and responsibilities, the contractor may work with participants who follow other interpretations of a No Preference faith. The Education Requirements are as follows: The selected contractor must have an extensive experience serving as an social values and responsibilities instructor. The contractor must have a minimum of three years of documented, continuous full time experience as an social values and responsibilities instructor in the community. The contractor must possess at a minimum, a Bachelor of Arts degree from an accredited college or university with a major in social studies, sociology, or a related curriculum. The Solicitation will be issued on February 3, 2003 with all bids due back by February 28, 2003 no later than 1:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time.
