Description
A Sole Source Commercial Solicitation of an RFQ is anticipated by the Alaska VA Healthcare System & Regional Office located at 2925 DeBarr Road, Anchorage, Alaska 99508. If a company can provide evidense that they are capable of providing the services required which will include all laundry items (textile goods, uniforms, flat good etc..), distribution, transportation, certifications, equipment and facilities then a solicitation package will be made available. Requests for companies not included in this solicitation must be made in writing by no later than February 19, 2003 (fax is acceptable (907) 257-6711).=20 Requests for bids will only be accepted from responsible businesses currently engaged in this type of commerce. NAICS Code 812332 Size Standard 12.0 Million with estimated project value being $250,000 to $500,000 over the course of the 1-year contract with four(4) one(1) year options to renew (5-years). A Firm Fixed Price contract is anticipated.. The Contractor shall furnish all management, labor, transportation, pick-up and delivery services, tools, materials, vehicles, facilities and equipment required to perform laundry services in accordance with the terms and conditions of this contract. This includes all laundry and other type textile service requirements and responsibilities. The Contractor shall receive,=20 account for, process, and return all organizational and individual items tendered for cleaning to individual sites with in the facility. For HVS this service will be on an =93As Needed=94 basis. The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), have set guidelines that make no distinction between regular or contagious linen and therefore all linen is to be treated as highly contagious. The contractor is not required to be accredited by JCAHO but the Contractor must meet or exceed current OSHA standard 29-CFR-1910.1030 & JCAHO standards and provide evidence of attaining that standard. This is a highly important requirement and the contractor is strongly encouraged to pay particular attention to detail regarding the fullness of disclosure regarding compliance to the standards sited. In accordance with VA directives and JCAHO standards, the AVAHSRO will perform contractor=92s facility visits on at least an annual basis and the visit can/may be unannounced.
