Description
Base Bid Item #1: Furnish and install replacement 5000 Gallon Condensate Make-Up Tank for steam boilers for Bldg. 69, Energy Center at VA Medical Center, Minneapolis, MN, to match existing piping installation: 3/8=94 thick steel SA 285, 414, 515-Grade 70, or 516, double welded butt joints, 24=94 diameter manhole with davit arm, saddles, interior coating, insulated; remove existing; install and connect new tank to existing piping; to include all appurtenances and any modifications necessary to provide a complete and working system.=20 Contractor to provide life expectancy of 20 years with a minimum 5 year warranty against workmanship/defects. (Existing tank is approximately 24 feet long by 6.5 feet wide, steel lined, 25 psi under pressure.)=20 Contractor must field verify; a site walk to view the project may be scheduled by contacting Duane Crossen or David Delzer at telephone 612-25-2000, ext. 1969 or 2643. Failure to request a site walk or to field verify will not relieve the successful contractor from performance in accordance with all terms and conditions, and specifications in the RFP. Alternate Bid Item: Prior to shipping, line tank with trowel epoxy or appropriate preapproved tank lining, three (3) layers, (prime coat, lining and gel-coat abrasion), chemical and heat resistant coating for continuous and intermittent immersion service. In addition to the solicitation documents, two (2) 8 1/2=94 by 11=94 drawings are available only in hard copy =96 request by fax =96 612-725-2072. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through FAC 01-12 and issued in accordance with FAR Subparts 12, 13 and 15. This procurement is 100% Set Aside for Small Business. NAICS code 332420, 500 employees.=20 Evaluation factors will include Technical Capability (including submission of Descriptive Literature for tank and lining), Past Performance, and Price, all to be submitted with proposal. Proposals are due by close of business (4:30 p.m. CST) February 28, 2003.=20 Written documents must be submitted, no electronic responses are acceptable.
