Description

17. Under the authority of FAR 6.302.1 (41 U.S.C. 253 (c)(1)), the Immigration and Naturalization Service, Administrative Center, Dallas, Texas issues this Notice of Intent to award a sole source contract to Corrections Corporation of America (CCA), Nashville, Tennessee, to provide Contractor-Owned/Contractor-Operated (COCO) short-term residential care and secure service of undocumented aliens. Estimated maximum number of detainees is 485, having varied criminal histories. The detention facilities are located within 20 miles of the Laredo International Airport. CCA will provide all management, labor, supervision, equipment and material necessary, in order to operate and maintain the facilities and provide the required services for the detainees, and CCA meets the criteria set forth for the unique and critical needs of the agency. This procurement action requires facilities able to house a minimum of 250 but not to exceed 485 detainees. The maximum number of female detainees will not exceed 77. Other offerors that have the ability to provide the before mentioned services are invited to submit information that addresses their capabilities and any other pertinent data to the address above, to be received not later than 15 days after the date of this notice.
