Description
The Bureau of Reclamation has a requirement for the following instrumentation that will be utilized in a research project to monitor concrete pavements in three specific sites. The three selected sites are located in Delaware, South Dakota, and Texas. Similar instrumentation packages will be installed at each site and will consist of vibrating wire strain transducers, fiber optic strain transducers, and a signal conditioner/datalogger. The datalogger will condition the signals from the strain transducers, acquire and store data from the stain sensors as well, as additional temperature and humidity sensors to be furnished by others. Periodically, a PC located in Reclamation's Denver office will contact each datalogger by telephone and upload the data accumulated. Two of the sites will be located in remote areas and will require solar power supplies as well as cellular telephone equipment for contacting the datalogger. This procurement is for a commercial service and is being conducted using Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) prescribed at FAR 13.601. The following clauses and provisions apply to this procurement: 52.212-1 Instructions to Offerors Commercial; 52.212-2 Evaluation; 52.212-3 Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items (must be returned with any offer); 52.212-4 Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items; and 52.212-5 Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial Items. Interested sources that possess the above characteristics/can furnish required items that possess the above characteristics are encouraged to submit a response to this announcement. Responses should include brochures or other illustrative material in sufficient detail to demonstrate the respondent's ability to meet the requirement stated above. Specific requirements and specifications for all instrumentation listed will be available in a prepared request for quotations (RFQ), available upon request by date indicated in response date block of this notice, at fax number 303/445-6345 (Attn: CWhite). The firm's Dun and Bradstreet number (DUNS) and Tax Identification Number (TIN), should be indicated when requesting the additional information. Firms should identify themselves as a small business, in accordance with the size standard for North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 334413 which is 500 employees.
