- Description
- The Department of Energy has reassessed its approach to this solicitation and provides the following notice to all prospective bidders: The Service Provider will not be requested to operate the Department?s legacy accounting and reporting systems, DISCAS and MARS, and transition to the new ORACLE-based system. Rather, the Service Provider will be required to operate the new ORACLE system, STARS, as the Department?s primary accounting and reporting system. Other subsidiary systems, such as Travel Manager, will remain in the work scope. The Service Provider will be brought on-board in sufficient time to receive training from the Department on STARS prior to implementation, currently scheduled for October 1, 2004. On a related matter, the Information Technology (IT) information included in the current draft work scope will be removed and competed as part of the Department?s A-76 IT Study. An updated work scope is expected to be available in March 2003. Workload will be provided under the Department?s legacy systems, DISCAS and MARS, since STARS workload will not be available.
