Description
45 CONS-Patrick AFB, FL is conducting a market survey of industry to identify sources interested in a non-personal service to determine where within the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station (CCAFS) the Southeastern Beach Mouse (SEBM) occurs, assess its abundance and dynamics within the occupied habitat and make arrangement recommendations for immediate and longer term implementation. SEBM is a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act (listed on May 12, 1989; U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) 1997). The intent of the study is to track the distribution of the SEBM on the CCAFS over a two-year period. This is NOT an Invitation for Bid or a Request for Proposal (RFP). The point of contact is 2d Lt Gary Lehmann, Contract Specialist (321) 494-0449 or Amelia Davila, Contract Specialist 321-494-9949. This work requires knowledge with the capture, tagging and handling of SEBM. Additionally, it requires a current valid Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWCC) small mammal trapping permit and knowledge of the restrictions and requirements imposed by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee. Contract performance requires personnel qualified and familiar with the unique circumstances of performing a contract within the various mission-related constraints associated with CCAFS. Also, the contractor must be capable conducting the subject study in accordance with the research protocols established by the FWCC and USFWS. Data must be collected and compiled in such a way to be compatible with data previously collected on- and off-site. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this action is 541710. Any responses to this notice should include the following information: company name, point of contact, address, telephone and fax numbers, and e-mail address.
