Description
SMC Det 12/STS Space and Missile System Center, 3550 Aberdeen Ave, SE, Kirtland Air Force Base, NM 87117-5776 intends to procure, under the Foreign Comparative Testing (FCT) Program, a low-cost, quick response, non-developmental small satellite orbit transfer system. This system must be compatible with the Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle (EELV) and the EELV Secondary Payload Adapter (ESPA). This system must also be compatible with a range of small spacecraft designs, which would make it possible to move these spacecraft to their desired orbits after deployment. Specification requirements for this type system include: For ESPA compatibility, the total ESPA mass available per launch location is 400 lb (181 kg), and the total ESPA volume available is 24"x24"x38". The payload, or spacecraft attached to the orbit transfer system, must have an available mass of 80 kg (177 lb), as well as an available volume of 24"x24"x18". The orbit transfer system must provide a minimum Delta-V of 100 m/s, to the payload of previously stated mass and volume. The orbit transfer system must provide a multiple burn capability of three ignitions. Interested companies are requested to submit information regarding their capabilities to 2Lt Rick Caldwell at SMC Det 12/STS, 3548 Aberdeen Ave SE, Kirtland Air Force Base, NM 87117-5778 by 14 Mar 03. Questions may be directed to 2Lt Rick Caldwell at (505) 853-4103.
