Description

Bechtel Nevada (BN), Cable Engineering Section is interested in pursuing the availability of a nonmetallic, rugged construction fiber optic cable assembly containing three different types of fibers. The assembly would contain different quantities of 100/140?m multi-mode fibers, 9/125?m single-mode fibers and 600?m (glass on glass high OH fiber with a NA of .15) fibers. It shall contain a solid central strength member and be suitable for operation in direct sunlight. It shall be able to withstand 600lbs of tension without significant effect on optical performance. The cable shall be suitable for direct burial, aerial suspension, and surface installation at operating temperatures from -29?C (-20?F) to +74?C (+164?F) and exposure to epoxy, concrete and grout.
