Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs, John D. Dingell Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan is in need of a contractor to install a dedicated grease laden sewer system at the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center in Saginaw, Michigan. The performance period shall be for a period of 120 days from notice to proceed. A site visit has been scheduled for April 8, 2003, at 10:00 local time. Although this site visit is not mandatory, bidders should be aware that the following clauses apply: 1) 52.236-27 Site Visit (Construction), 2) 52.236-2, Differing Site Conditions, and 3) 52.236-3, Site Investigations and Conditions Affecting the Work. Bidders should register for the site visit 24 hours prior, with the Contracting Officer, Barbara Wilkinson, by faxing their intention to attend to Ms. Wilkinson=92s attention at (313) 576-1077. Ms. Wilkinson may be reached by telephone at (313) 576-3737. Bid opening will be held at the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center, 4646 John R Street, Detroit, Michigan 48201, in room B4213. Bid opening shall be held at precisely 2:00 PM local time on April 30, 2003. Late bids will not be considered. This invitation for bids consists of a base bid covering all work, with two alternate bid items consisting of lesser work deducted from the base bid. Award will be made to the responsive, responsible bidder with the lowest base bid within funding limitations. If funding restrictions do not allow for the award of the base bid, award will be made within funding limitations in the following order of precedence: Alternate I, then Alternate II. Determination for awarding alternate bids will be made by the Contracting Officer in accordance with funding limitations.=20 This IFB has been set aside 100% for HubZone Small businesses. Drawings are available from the Contracting Officer by faxed request.
