F018620-03-QS716 Ground Rods Questions & Answers Questions 1. Are you requesting the contractor to install the EMT as depicted in the drawings or will it be installed by base personnel? 2. ITN90215/EBN 90349 building, Is part of the scope of work for the contractor to install 200' #6 Thinnet? Is there existing conduit for this application? Who will terminated the Thinnet? 3. The plans show existing ground rods at some buildings. Are these existing ground systems to be augmented as per solicitation? 4. You are requesting 25 Ohms upon completion of the installation. Two (2) buildings show very high ground resistance Ohm readings. Have ground resistance test been performed on each of these sites? 5. The solicitation requires (2) two 10' ground rods be driven and tested to pull 25 Ohms. If 25 Ohms is not achieved and additional material is required, can the contractor submit an adder for the additional material and labor? 6. will local permitting be required for this project? Answers 1. The contractor shall install the EMT from the Transformer to the Panel 2. The Contractor shall accomplish all work and run all conduit according to the prints. 3. The existing ground rod can be used as long as they pull 25 Ohms to ground. 4. No ground resistance test have been performed on any of the locations. 5. You can add additional ground rods in order to pull 25 Ohms to ground and the addition material and labor will be added to the cost of the contract. 6. All permits must be pulled by the Contractor at his expense but no permits are required on Base. Inspections of all work will be performed by Base Personnel/Electricians.
