Description

Blackwood Creek Fish Ladder Removal and Stream Restoration Project involves the supply and delivery of boulders, rock and other materials to a staging area within Blackwood Canyon. Work also includes the removal of a portion of the existing fish ladder and reconstruction of 100 lineal feet of stream channel and floodplain. Use of heavy machinery is required for construction and transportation of materials to and from the site. Equipment must be capable of lifting, transporting, and placing boulders up to 4.5' in diameter. From South Lake Tahoe travel north on State Route 89 for 23 miles from the intersection Highway 50 and SR89 to intersection of Barker Pass Road and SR89. From Tahoe City travel south on SR89 for 4.2 miles to intersection of Barker Pass Road and SR89. The project is located 3 miles west of the junction of Barker Pass Road and SR89. The Government's estimate is $500,000 to $1,000,000. Estimated start work date 08/15/03 to supply and deliver materials to Blackwood Canyon staging area. 09/01/03 mobilization and begin work on the fish ladder removal and channel work. There will be a prebid meeting on May 5, 2003, at 10:00 a.m., meeting at Junction of Barker Pass Road and Hwy 89 on West Shore of Lake Tahoe.
