NA Y? THIS IS FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. DO NOT REGISTER FOR PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AT THIS TIME. THERE IS A ?DRAFT? SOLICITATION AVAILABLE FOR REVIEW ON THIS WEBSITE (see instructions below). The Government may consider comments and inquiries while pre paring the final plans and specs; however, the Government is not seeking comments and may not provide responses to inquiries. A solicitation will be issued on or about 01 Jun 03 and bids will be opened on or about 15 Jul 03. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: S-65D Stru ctures are located in Highlands County, Florida, approximately seven miles south of the town of Fort Basinger, adjacent to the Kissimmee River. The work will include construction of a new two-bay spillway (Structure 65DX2), demolition of Structure 65DX (g ated culverts), installation of new precast box culverts with slide gates (Structure 65DX1) and adding breastwalls to an existing four-bay spillway (Structure 65D). The construction of the S-65D Structures includes the following:Construction of S65DX2 wil l include, but not be limited to, construction of a two-bay concrete spillway with related civil work, installation of a precast concrete control building, fabrication and installation of two steel vertical lift gates with related mechanical and electrical work and installation of steel sheet pile wingwalls. Construction of S65DX1, which is located at the existing Structure 65DX, will include installation of four 5? X 5? precast concrete box culverts with related civil work, installation of four stainless s teel slide gates with related mechanical and electrical work, construction of a concrete walkway, and the installation of a precast concrete control building. Demolition of the existing Structure 65DX includes, but not necessarily limited to, two corrugate d metal pipes 66 inches in diameter, two slide gates, concrete walkway, operating platform, columns and foundation, concrete headwalls and wingwalls and riprap. Modification of the existing four-bay spillway, Structure 65D, includes adding a breastwall to each bay and adding a top seal to each vertical lift gate. OPTION A. Option A includes the upstream and downstream channel work for Structures DX1 and DX2. Installation of gabion mattresses, safety barriers, warning signs, staff gages, and stilling wells shall be part of Option A. Magnitude of construction is bet ween $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00.
