- The Department of Veterans Affairs Mid Atlantic Health Care Network (VISN 6) intends to negotiate a sole source commercial item procurement with The Krames/Staywell Company a division of MediMedia USA for a one-year subscription to access their on-line patient health information database entitled Krames-On-Demand Internet. Database will be accessible from any computer within the eight medical centers in VISN 6 thus providing consistent information VISN-wide. This database can be accessed via the internet and will be maintained and updated by the vendor. Other features of this database include: produces a single-page sheet, covering chronic diseases, diagnosis with high readmission rates and discharge instructions; drug information sheets covering FDA approved drugs, plus alternative medications such as herbal supplements and nutritional products; ability to create group and personal folders for commonly used sheets; sheets can be personalized and printed for specific patients (or groups of patients) in one step; batch printing and customization; sheets can be constantly reviewed; automatic updates quarterly; no HIPPAA conflicts; 508 compliant; unlimited usage. This proposed procurement is for supplies or services for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement no later than Noon, April 11, 2003, local time. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
