Description

Solicitation number Q8485030004, posted on March 19, 2003, will be issued as solicitation number N8480030113. Redwood National Park seeks qualified firms/contractors to conduct marbled murrelet and northern spotted owl surveys in the Lost Man Creek watershed at Redwood National Park, located in Humboldt County, California. Approximately 1075 acres will be surveyed to determine presence and occupancy levels of marbled murrelets and northern spotted owls within proposed work/construction sites. The vegetation is primarily second growth redwood and Douglas fir. The survey data will be used in consultations with the US Fish and Wildlife Service to determine possible effects on marbled murrelets and northern spotted owls of noise generated by watershed restoration/logging road removal projects. This acquisition is a small business setaside and will be conducted under Commercial Items procedures. The NAICS code is 541690 and the applicable size standard is $6,000,000. The Government intends to award one firm, fixed price contract for the 2003 breeding season with an option to extend the contract through the 2004 breeding season. The following criteria, listed in order of decreasing importance, will be used in the selection of the successful offeror: Past performance, experience in the performance of marbled murrelet surveys, and price. The solicitation will be available for electronic access at http://ideasec.nbc.gov or http://www.fedbizopps.gov on or about April 2, 2003 with proposals due on April 16, 2003.
