Small Business Set-Aside: Total Small Business
Description: The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has a requirement for a fully found and crewed vessel with support equipment to use as a base for USGS underwater equipment deployment. The objective of the survey is to deploy underwater incubation chambers with umbilical attachments to analytical equipment aboard the vessel to perform 24 hour in situ geochemical monitoring on the reef tract in South Florida and the Florida Keys from Biscayne Bay to Long Key, the Bahamas, and U.S.Virgin Islands. Mobilization and demobilization will be in Miami, Florida. Period of Performance for this requirement is for 24 hours per day for 20 days. The exact dates are not currently known. The dates will depend upon coordination of work with other agencies and relevant timing for seasonal ecosystem processes. It is anticipated to take place sometime between August 1, 2003 and December 31, 2003. The captain and mate shall both be experienced in marine diving in the Florida and/or Bahamas coastal waters. The solicitation will be issued as a "Request for Quotation" and shall be designated RFQ 03ERQQ0045. The complete statement of work is provided in the RFQ The anticipated award date is May 12, 2003. This acquisition is NAICS code 423860. Quotes are due on or before May 2, 2003.
