- Description
- Furnish all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to repair the existing boat moorings floating dock at U.S. Coast Guard Group Portland, Oregon. The floating dock system consists of fifty-five (55) concrete flotation modules arranged in a configuration that provides for four north-south running finger floats. The western most finger float (Finger A) is 72 ft. long by 8 ft. wide and accesses the gangway, while the three remaining finger floats are 48 ft. long by 8 ft. wide (Fingers B, C, and D). The work includes, but is not limited to, the following: Remove all existing 3-in. x 10-in. wood fender boards and install new 3-in. by 10-in. wood fender boards as shown in Drawing 13-O00180 O1 Sheet 2 0f 6. In removing the 3-in. x 10-in. wood fender boards, inspect all existing underlying 8-in. x 10-in. wood walers and visually inspect all existing floating dock through rods. Remove and replace 400 LF of the existing 8-in. x 10-in. wood walers and twenty (or 10% whichever is greater) of the existing through rods. Based on inspection after the removal of 3-in. x 10-in. wood fenders, the location and placement of the new 400 LF of 8-in. x 10-in. wood walers and the placement of new through rods will be recommended by the Contractor and approved by the COR. Remove all existing D fenders and install new D fenders running the entire length of each dock, not including the 8 ft. width section. Replace all existing 4-in. x 4-in. x 2 ft. 2-in. wood rub blocks with Ultra High Molecular Weight (UMHW) polyurethane rub blocks. Refasten all loose pile guide hoop connections and replace all missing connection hardware. See Drawing 13-O00180 O3 Sheet 4 of 6. Fabricate and install a gangway wear plate to accommodate the full range of tide. The gangway wear plate will be welded to the existing 3-in. x 3-in. x ?-in. angle gangway roller guides. Refer to Drawing 13-O00180 O4 Sheet 5 of 6. Refasten the mooring cleats, which are loose either due to a missing backer plate or from being lag bolted into the wales. All lag bolted mooring cleats will be replaced with backer plate connections as shown on Drawing 13-O00180 O3 Sheet 4 of 6. Refasten all floating dock lighting fixtures, including replacing all missing hardware. The estimated cost of this procurement is between $25,000 to $100,000 (CONSTRUCTION BID ONLY).
