Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst, N.J. intends to issue a Firm Fixed Price Request for Proposals (RFP) for one each Iron Phosphate Spray System, to consist of an application booth, iron phosphate spray application equipment, and equipment to neutralize the iron phosphate solution prior to disposal. This system will be used to apply iron phosphate to bare metal components prior to coating them with powdered paint. During iron phosphate treatment, a wide range of sizes will be conveyed in and out of the booth either on carts or via an overhead monorail system, depending upon the product size. Approximate exterior dimensions of the booth required are 15? wide x 18? high x 34? deep. The spray application equipment and booth shall operate on 460 V, 60 Hz, 3 phase power. The floor tank for the solution shall have a 1,500 gallon capacity, and the floor shall support a distributed weight of 30,000 lbs. In addition to other relevant codes, the system shall be in conformance with NEMA 4, NFPA 79, and OSHA 1910.94. Start-up, training, and submission of logistical support data will also be required as part of the contract. The destination for this unit is NAVAIRSEFAC, Solomons, MD. This requirement shall be fulfilled by supplying ?commercial items? as defined in Section 2.101 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation. The estimated Issue Date for this solicitation is 29 April 2003 and it will be posted on http://www.navair.navy.mil/doing_business/open_solicitations/.
