Description
On November 7, 2002, Federal Prison Industries, Inc. (FPI) published a notice to Federal Business Opportunities announcing a partnership with Allied Healthcare Service, LTD. The partnership between FPI and Allied was to transcribe voice recordings of health care professionals into electronic documents. The work that was to be done by FPI would have otherwise been contracted outside of the United States. As such, it was within the operating criteria as defined in public notices regarding FPI's authority to perform commercial market services. The purpose of this notice is to announce that, after a follow-up review, FPI has decided not to pursue this type of service. As a result, FPI will not be performing medical transcription services for Allied Healthcare, LTD, or any other company. Interested parties have the right to raise questions at any time with FPI's Board of Directors. Any correspondence should be addressed to: Chief Administrative Officer, Research, Activation and Corporate Support, 320 First Street, N.W., Washington, DC, 20534.
