Description

The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is planning a Direct Conversion with Cost Comparison Study under the provisions of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circular A-76 for the Mail and Supply services in the NRCS Office in Auburn, Alabama. These services are currently provided by Government personnel. Offerors are advised that a contract may not be awarded if the cost of contract performance is determined to be greater than the cost of in-house performance by Government personnel. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 561210. Certain tasks to be performed are listed below. The listing is incomplete. Full details of the work requirements will be in the Performance Work Statement included as a part of the solicitation. Major components of the work include mail room support functions, (receiving, sorting, distributing, collecting and sending mail), supply services, office equipment repair and service management and vehicle fleet maintenance. A solicitation will be released on or about May 12, 2003. The solicitation will be available solely through the Federal Business Opportunities website at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Hardcopies of the solicitation will not be available. All questions must be directed to the Contracting Officer in writing via e-mail at lynn.thomas@al..usda.gov, or by facsimile to 334-887-4551. No telephone questions will be accepted. The anticipated due date for proposals is June 12, 2003. The U.S.Government reserves the right to retain the work in-house and make no contract award. This is a total small business set-aside.
