- Description
- The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA)/Maternal and Child Health Bureau has a requirement to develop educational materials that provide information about newborn screening to those health professionals with the primary responsibility for prenatal health care, labor and delivery services (obstetricians, family practice physicians and nurse midwives), as well as focus on the adaptation of educational materials that can be used by these practitioners to inform their patients. The educational materials must be amendable to distance learning formats (videoconferencing, wireless communications, internet, streaming media etc.) and use in clinical office practices. Specifically, this contract proposes to (1) Develop and disseminate education modules for direct clinical application to health professionals engaged in prenatal care, follow-up, diagnosis and treatment associated with the newborn screening systems; (2) Develop and disseminate education modules for utilization by health professionals engaged in prenatal consumer education; and (3) Evaluate products, tools and strategies used to inform health professionals, caregivers and families more effectively. This is a new requirement. The anticipated period of performance shall be eighteen months from the effective date of the contract. This notice is not a request for proposals. The solicitation document (RFP) will be posted at 222.fedbizopps.gov on or about May 8, 2003 and can be downloaded by looking in the main menu under HHS/office-Health Resources and Services Administration/locations-National Hansen?s Disease Programs. The closing date for receipt of proposals will be approximately thirty (30) days after issuance/posting of the RFP. This acquisition is being conducted under full and open competition. It shall be the officer?s responsibility to monitor the site for amendments to the solicitation (RFP).
