- Description
- The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Patuxent River intends to issue a sole source contract to Raytheon Company, 1010 Production Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46808 for engineering services to modify the HD-1166/ ARC-187 Radio System cooler assembly to correct a power dropout deficiency that has occurred in the P-3C AN/ARC-187 radio system. Magnavox Corporation was the original designer, developer and manufacturer of the AN/ARC-187 radio. This division of Magnovox was subsequently acquired by Hughes Aircraft, which was later acquired by Raytheon Company. Consequently, Raytheon Company holds the data rights to and is the sole manufacturer of the AN/ARC-187 radio and, as such, is the only company that has the technical capability and specialized experience necessary to perform the required effort in a timely manner. The Government intends to utilize other than full and open competition in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satsify agency requirements.
