- Description
- The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), Wildlife Services (WS) program intends to issue a sole source purchase order with Ly-Con, located in Visalia, CA, for services to overhaul and upgrade two Piper PA-18 engines under the authority of FAR 6.302. All aircraft and engines used in the Wildlife Services Aviation Program must conform to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Type Certificate (TC) approval. The Piper PA-18 is Type Certificated for the Lycoming 0-320 150/160 horsepower (hp) engine. Ly-Con, an aircraft engine overhaul facility, is the only overhaul facility in the United States that has been approved by both the Federal Aviation Administration and the engine manufacturer, Lycoming, to perform such an upgrade. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $33,000. This notice is for informational purposes only. No formal solicitation will be issued.
