Description
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Information Technology Laboratory, through the Acquisition Management Group, NIST, intends to award a sole source simplified acquisition to Patriot Technologies, Inc. Frederick, MD 21704. The purpose of this simplified acquisition is to procure six SMARTGig IDS Sensors. The unique qualifications in the following area are considered essential: A secured and hardened operating system - either Windows? 2000 Server or Linux for the Network Sensor products, and Windows 2000 Server for the SiteProtector? or Workgroup Manager management console appliances. Hardening procedures have been custom developed by Patriot Technologies, Inc's INFOSEC team, with the approval of Internet Security Systems, Inc.; Uniquely tuned ISS RealSecure? Network Sensor attack recognition software based on a needs analysis performed by Patriot Technologies, Inc's Security Engineers; and Physically secure rack-mountable security appliance with lockable front bezel. Available only through Patriot Technologies, Inc, the high-performance SMARTGig IDS is based on standard software and hardware building blocks from industry leaders such as Internet Security Systems, Inc and the Intel Corporation. This proposed requirement for which the Government intends to solicit only one source is under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). Interested concerns may identify their interest and submit a capability statement that demonstrates in a written narrative format detailed information addressing their ability to meet the requirement and objectives as described in this synopsis. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation document is available; therefore, requests for such a document will be considered invalid responses. A determiniation to compete this proposed requirement is solely within the descretion of the Government. If no affirmative responses are received by May 7, 2003 at 9:00am local time, the Contracting Officer will proceed with the award to Patriot Systems, Inc.
