- Description
- This is a modification to the synopsis entitled 43-- Vacuum Deposition System, 1-213-RBG-1325 which was posted on April 21,2003. You are notified that the following changes are made: The following system requirements are added: Requirements 1. The high vacuum pump will be a 500 l/s or larger water-cooled turbomolecular pump with controller mounted inside the cabinet assembly in order to prevent user interference. The Chamber will be rough pumped by the 8.4cfm (or faster) two stage, direct drive rotary vane mechanical pump with a pumping speed of 10cfm or faster. 2. Overall vacuum performance better than 2 X 10-7 mbar 3. Pump Down Time (typical): Better than 4 minutes to 10-5 mbar and better than 25 minutes to 10-6 mbar. 4. The unit must have a fully automated microprocessor controlled pumping system, such that the push of a button activates all necessary pumping operations without user intervention. 5. The unit must have battery backed up controller to automatically close the high vacuum valve in the event of a power failure or accidental shut off. 6. The high vacuum pump, the mechanical backing pump and the valves shall be from the same vendor in order to make servicing easier 7. The unit shall have an integrated liquid nitrogen cold trap and manual filling device. 8. The mechanical pump will be supplied with both an oil mist filter and a foreline trap to prevent backstreaming. 9. There will be a suitable automatic vacuum safety interlock system to prevent operation of any high voltage accessory when the coater is at atmospheric pressure or if any of the covers or doors are not in place 10. The vacuum controller shall be a microprocessor based controller and the software will provide password protection. 11. All vacuum valves shall be solenoid operated and will NOT require any compressed air. 12. The vacuum system and all components must be easily accessible for cleaning and maintenance. The Baseplate shroud shall be fully removable to provide easy access to all feedthroughs. 13. The motorized high vacuum valve will be safety interlocked and intelligent insofar that when the high vacuum valve is opened, the vacuum controller will monitor the backing pressure. If the backing pressure rises above the acceptable specified level, then the High Vacuum Valve will close automatically until the backing pressure recovers 14. The high vacuum gauge shall be a Cold Cathode type and will be located on the baseplate with a shield/cover to prevent material from being deposited onto the filament. 15. The system will have 2 or more Pirani type vacuum gauge heads. 16. The Liquid Nitrogen trap will come with a removable funnel for filling trap. 17. System will have heavy-duty casters. 18. The facilities connections will be on the side of the unit and not on the rear so that the entire system can be backed up against the wall. 19. The base plate shall consist of nine or more 25mm holes and four or more 12mm holes. 20. All of the feedthroughs to be situated with a O-Ring on the Vacuum side The due date for responses is not extended.
