Description

NA The project consists of dredging the Norfolk Harbor Channel Anchorages to a depth of 45 feet MLLW (NOS) with one foot of allowable overdepth. The work shall be performed by a hydraulic dredge and pipeline with all dredged material transported and placed in the designated Government-furnished placement area at Craney Island. The work involves dredging approximately 762,000 cubic yards of material including allowable overdepth dredging and estimated accretion to August 2003.Magnitude of construction is $1,000 ,000.00 - $2,500,000.00. Applicable SIC code is 1629, with a size standard of $17 million. The NAICS code 23799. The solicitation will be available on the Internet only. No paper copies or CDs will be issued. Interested firms may download and view sol icitation on or after 9 June 2003 from the following web site: http://www.nao.usace.army.mil/Ebs/Asp/AdvertisedSolicitations. Interested bidders are required to register at this site as a plan holder. Telephone, facsimile, e-mail or other written reques ts for solicitations will not be honored. Prospective contractors must be registered on the DoD Central Contractors Registration database to be eligible for an award. Potential bidders are informed the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, National Ocean Service (NOS) is updating the National Tidal Datum Epoch (NTDE). Commencing 21 April 2003 and continuing through the remainder of FY 2003, the nation's tidal datum provided to the public by NOS will be updated and identified as NTDE (1983-2003). The Contractor is informed the drawings and specifications for this contract have been prepared to the NTDE (1960-1978) and, accordingly, all work to be performed unde r this contract shall be accomplished to the NTDE (1960-1978). Conversion of tidal datum and benchmark elevations referenced to tidal datum updated by the NOS shall be the Contractors responsibility.
