Description

This sources sought notice is to determine the availability of potential sources to provide technical assistance to the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) Conservation Plan of Operations (CPO) under the Farm Security and Rural Investment Act of 2002 (the 2002 Farm Bill), Public Law 107-171. Development of the CRP CPO will consist of, but is not limited to the applicant's decisions and supporting information. The CRP CPO must be technically adequate for achieving the objectives of the CRP and be in compliance with NEPA. This will include a schedule of operations and activities necessary for the successful selection of approved practices and practice components necessary to establish and maintain the vegetative cover on all acres offered for the CRP. In order to develop a CRP CPO, a Technical Service Provider (TSP) must be certified as a Certified Conservation Planner. Additional categories which may be required include Forestry/Agriculture Forestry, Buffer, Vegetative Land Stabilization, Wetlands, Wildlife and Fishers. TechReg site at http://techreg.usda.gov/ should be monitored by individuals interested in providing technical services to NRCS. TechReg is an internet application, which will make it easy for Technical Service Providers to register and become certified and USDA Customers to find certified providers. This is a sources sought notice. This notice provides an avenue to create a mailing list of interested parties. This notice is not a solicitation announcement for offers and no contract or agreement will be awarded from this announcement. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement or any follow-up information requests.
