- Description
- This is a REQUEST FOR INFORMATION. Reference ?ICF Catalog Management? when responding to this announcement. The Social Security Administration (SSA) is seeking vendors capable of providing comprehensive Integrated Catalog Facility (ICF) Management Software and maintenance support. This software will be installed on a minimum of four IMBz/900 2064 mainframe systems at the National Computer Center in Baltimore Maryland. The mainframe operating system will be Z/OS 1.3 or higher. The Agency is seeking sources that meet the following requirements: 1) Easy to use Interactive System Productivity Facility (ISPF) interface, 2) Diagnostic feature to identify Basic Catalog Structure (BCS)- VSAM Volume Data Set (VVDS) ? Volume Table of Contents (VTOC) discrepancies and produce control cards for correction, 3) Identify unconnected user catalogs, 4) Identify aliases with no associated entries, 5) Backup and restore feature for BCS and VVDS records, 6) Forward recovery facility for BCS and VVDS records using System Management Facility (SMF) data from time of backup to present, 7) Merge feature, with full restart and back out functionality, to move selected entries from one BCS to another, 8) Query feature to identify dataset characteristics that require attention, 9) Zap feature to print, correct, or delete characteristics that require attention, 10) Alter names in BCS, VSAM Volume records (VVR)/non-VSAM records (NVR) and VTOC, and 11) Section 508 compliant (Americans with Disabilities Act). Optional/Desireable features include: 1) Disaster recovery feature, and 2) Provide integrity, for catalogs using Enhanced Catalog Sharing (ECS), during recovery and merge operations. Interested vendors must be able to provide verifiable proof by submitting information in sufficient detail to demonstrate their ability to meet the Agency?s requirement. Vendors responding should indicate whether their services are available on the GSA Federal Supply Schedules. Pricing data may be submitted. This is not a request for proposal and the Government does not intend to pay for information submitted. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation of the data received. No contract award will be made on the basis of responses received; however, this information will be used in SSA?s assessment of capable sources. Responses to this notice should be submitted via e-mail (Word or acrobat attachment) with 10 days of this publication. No Faxed responses. Requests for copies of a solicitation will not be honored or acknowledged. NO FORMAL SOLICITATION IS BEING ISSUED AT THIS TIME. ELECTRONIC RESPONSES ONLY, to the POC identified above.
