Tasks required in support of this effort include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Avionics Architecture and Systems Engineering including investigation of emerging technologies to identify concepts, system configuration, architecture, and advanced avionics development; 2. Avionics Science and Technology support, including systems engineering and development expertise in the analysis, comparative candidate trade-off studies, system, hardware and software specifications, and the design, development, integration, and testing of core avionics; 3. Network Centric Warfare (NCW) support, including assessments of DoD warfare and mission planning systems, intelligence analysis, processing and evaluation systems, imagery compression and dissemination techniques, and situational awareness and assessment systems in meeting these requirements; 4. Support of Flight Information Systems, including engineering and technical support in the development and maintenance of flight information systems; 5. Support of Electronic Warfare (EW) Systems, including support of the development and maintenance of Advanced Electronic Counter-Measures (ECM) for both domestic and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) to include On-Board/Electro-Optic/Infrared EW Systems, Passive EW Systems, and User File Development/Test facilities; 6. Radio Frequency (RF) Sensors support, including the use of airborne platform characteristics in performing conceptual radar/microwave system tradeoff analyses, industry surveys, and configuration design and development of draft performance specifications; 7. Support of Electro-Optics (EO) and Special Missions Sensors, including engineering and technical support for existing reconnaissance programs, the incorporation of enhancement modifications to existing, fielded systems as well as the design and development of new components and systems; 8. Support of Imagery and Video Systems Software Enhancements, including engineering support in the development, integration, and demonstration of leading edge technologies that enhance situational awareness and provide intelligence information for mission planning and time critical targeting; 9. Support of Ballistic Missile Defense Surveillance Technology, including analysis, design, development, integration, and testing of avionics, ground support equipment, and laboratory equipment for the Ballistic Missiles Defense Office (BMDO) surveillance and intercept program; 10. Airborne Missions Computers support, including engineering support in the design, development, integration, and documentation for airborne central computer/mission computer systems including operational flight programs; 11. Support of Acoustic Systems, including acoustic performance tradeoff analyses to identify both active and passive sensor concepts to optimize Undersea Warfare (USE) mission execution, and concept studies of active and passive acoustic sensors; 12. Support of Technical and Programmatic Support of Conferences, including support of conferences/symposia/meetings relevant to those technologies applicable to the AIR 4.5 Divisions; 13. Support of Prototype Development and Testing, including the incorporation of rapid prototyping in system development where appropriate for quick assessment of proposed system capabilities, and 14. System Training and In-Service Support, including training and support for fielded avionics equipment, systems, ground support equipment, and facilities. ALL personnel performing work under the proposed contract must, as a minimum, possess a SECRET clearance. Some personnel will require a TOP SECRET clearance.
