- In accordance with the Revised Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circular A-76, CMS has been conducting competitive sourcing cost comparison studies on seventeen commercial activities since October 1, 2002. The type of activity, number of government personnel performing the activity, and agency component are as follows: 1. General Accounting, 16 employees, OFM 2. Demonstrations, 13 employees, OFM 3. Property Space Management, 13 employees , OICS 4. Publications, 17 employees, OICS 5. TV and Graphics, 17 employees, OICS 6. Office of Hearing Support Staff, 23 employees , OICS 7. Information Distribution, 35 employees , OIS 8. Exceptions Processing, 19 employees , OIS 9. Database Management and Computing Services, 19 employees, OIS 10. Telecommunication, 15 employees, OICS 11. Information Technology, 12 employees, OIS 12. Contractor Performance Evaluation, 25 employees, CMM 13. Manage Care Marketing Review, 10 employees, CBC 14. Data Systems Analysis, 14 employees, CMM 15. Risk Management, 8 employees, OOM 16. Project Management, 7 employees, OOM 17. Research Systems, 24 employees, ORDI . These competitive sourcing studies were conducted at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, 7500 Security Blvd., Baltimore, Md. 21244. The HHS Streamline methodology was use for each competitive sourcing study conducted. The incumbent service providers for each activity are CMS federal employees. The Competitive Sourcing Official and Contracting Officer have not yet been determined. The projected end date of these studies is September 25, 2003.
