DESCRIPTION: SOLICITATION DOCUMENTS, INCLUDING DRAWINGS, WILL BE AVAILABLE ON CD ONLY. The Walla Walla District, Corps of Engineers, intends to award a firm-fixed price constru ction contract. Work consists of rehabilitation of sixteen existing mud valves located in the south shore fishway system; installation of bulkhead guide slots on the discharge side of eight existing auxiliary water supply pumps; and rehabilitation of two existing eight-foot butterfly valves, consisting of removal, disassembly, inspection, lead abatement, repair, repainting, reassembly and reinstallation of the butterfly valves. Each of the valves and associated appurtenances are coated with a paint system that includes a lead-based primer. All lead abatement shall be performed off-site at a certified facility. Butterfly valves are rehabilitated on auxiliary water supply pumps No. 7 and No. 8 only. The estimated completion date for this work is April 15, 2004.
