Description

The Air Armament Center (AAC), Eglin AFB, FL intends to award a Firm-Fixed Price contract for exploding foil initiators. This is a SOLE SOURCE acquisition to Reynolds Systems, Inc., 18649 Hwy 175, Middletown CA 95461. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The announcement number is F3ZDOL32100300. This solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 325920, with a small business standard size of 750 employees. Please identify your business size in your response based upon this standard. The requirement is for LEEFI (Low Energy Exploding Foil Initiator) is a newly developed and qualified detonator employing only high-density secondary explosives and incorporating the latest (chip) technology. It is intended for use in military fuses and safe & arm devices. It is basically housed in a leadless chip carrier with approximately a 0.2” hermetically scaled explosive steel container. This is to be delivered FOB Destination on or before August 28, 2003 at Eglin AFB, FL.
