Description

This is a Pre-Solicitation Notice: The USDA, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), Veterinary Services intends to acquire construction services for a roofing project at our facility in Ames, Iowa. This requirement will be issued as a Request for Quotations (RFQ). The contractor shall furnish all plant, labor, equipment, appliances and materials necessary to repair the existing roof and install new roofing felt and asphalt shingles on seven (7) animal buildings. Prior to construction, the contractor is required to submit manufacturers? catalog cut-sheets and shop drawings for approval. It is anticipated that a single award will be made. All effort shall be completed within approximately thirty (30) days after notification of award. This is a full and open procurement which is to be awarded as a fixed price purchase order. The estimated price range is between $25,000 and $100,000. The RFQ, #APHIS-3-3723, is to be affixed to all documents submitted in reference to this requirement. This requirement will be evaluated as a best value award. It is anticipated that the Request for Quotations (RFQ) will be released on or about August 22, 2003 and quotes will be due fourteen (14) calendar days after the release of the RFQ. The RFQ will be accessible at the following website address: www.FedBizOpps.gov. To receive notification of the RFQ?s posting, offerors may contact the contracting official by mail at: USDA, APHIS, ESB; Attn: Cynthia D. Barzey; 4700 River Road, Unit 115 (3D33); Riverdale, Maryland 20737, fax to: Construction Contracting Branch, attention: Cynthia D. Barzey at (301) 734-4846 or email: Cynthia.D.Barzey@aphis.usda.gov. Telephone requests will not be accepted. It is requested that offerors access the RFQ at the following website address: www.FedBizOpps.gov. A limited quantity of paper copies of the RFQ and/or amendments will be available for potential offerors without electronic capabilities. All responsible sources may submit an offer which will be considered. Responses (Quotes) will be due no later than 2:30 p.m. local time on September 5, 2003.
