- This is a Combined Synopsis/Request for Quotation for Commercial Services/Supplies prepared in accordance with the format in FAR 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this Notice. This announcement constitutes the only Request For Quotations and incorporates Provisions and Clauses IAW the FAR/DFAR. This is a competitive procurement. Award will be based on lowest bidder meeting all specifications with no substitutions. ITEM 0001 FIWC Fiber Installation Project l LOT: Location: FIWC Bldg 1126 2555 Amphibious Drive Norfolk, VA 23521 Scope: Installation of 170 network drops in designated spaces, highlighted in yellow. New drops are designated by red circles and a red ID number. Existing drops are noted by blue circles. All fiber drops will be terminated, tested and labeled in accordance with ANSI/TIA/EIA-568-A. All fiber drops will originate in 19? equipment racks in Rm 222. Contractor will install patch panels (model number below) in racks. All patch panel terminations should have ST type connectors. Fiber cable will traverse under the racks and through the raised flooring. Contractor will install a wire frame cable tray to route cables from the floor to ceiling. Contractor will need to install a wire frame cable tray to extend from the right side of Rm 222 and cleanly penetrate the two-story module office (151) second floor. The tray will also channel cables (externally) to the first floor of 151. Cables exiting the tray in 151 (first & second floor), will be cleanly run above the drop ceiling and run inside the walls to designated locations. Contractor will route cables for rooms 117,117B and 149 through 3? currently installed in floor of Rm 222. Note that Rm 222 is directly above Rm 117B. An existing cable tray exists in RM 117, beginning at the stairwell and following along the outer walls for drops D4-D8. Contractor will need to install wire frame cable tray from 3? conduit in Rm 117B to existing cable tray. Vertical cable runs for drops D4-D8 will require raceway to be installed on concrete walls. The contractor will install at least one wall mounted fiber connection boxes (model number below) at each drop location. Drop locations will include at least one and no more than ten network fiber cables. The attached spreadsheet outlines quantity, purpose and connector type for drop location. Each cable is associated as either NIPRNET, SIPRNET or JWICS devices and must follow these guidelines: NIPRNET 1. Must use GREEN colored cable if not using multi-stranded cable (4+ strands). 2. Must be terminated in the wall box with SC connectors SIPRNET 1. Must use ORANGE/RED colored cable if not using multi-stranded cable (4+ strands). 2. Must be terminated in wall box with ST connectors JWICS 1. Must use Blue colored cable. Otherwise customer provided JWICS stickers must be affixed to cable every six feet. 2. Must be terminated in wall box with MTRJ connectors. *Note: Cables for each category will originate in separate patch panels in Rm 222. Contractor to provide the following patch cords and drop cables: (37) 10? Green ST -> MTRJ (124) 10? Orange/Red ST -> MTRJ (9) 10? Blue ST -> MTRJ (37) 10? Green SC -> SC (124) 10? Orange/Red ST -> ST (9) 10?
