Description
NA The Government intends to solicit and negotiate on a sole source basis in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, with Xerox Special Information Systems, 1218 South Fifth Avenue, Monrovia, CA 91016. The Contractor shall provide hardware and software maintenance and emergency service repair calls placed after the hours of 0800 to 1700 Monday through Friday on four (4) Government owned Multiple Automated Printing System 2 ( MAPS 2), hereinafter referred to as MAPS. Each of the MAPS hardware units consists of a System Controller, Operator Console, Printing Device and Sorter Bins. The MAPS equipment are in support of the Pentagon Telecommunication Center located in the Pentag on, Washington DC and the Navy Annex in Arlington Virginia and operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365/366 days a year to include all federal holidays. The only known source that has access to certain codes and diagnostics that are embedded in the s oftware that drives the Xerox operational system is Xerox Special Information Systems. This information is proprietary to Xerox and only highly skilled Xerox technicians are allowed access to these codes and to perform maintenance on this equipment. The government anticipates a Fixed Price contract with ??????not to exceed?????? reimbursable CLIN for emergency calls. This action is being issued under the authority of FAR Part 13.5 utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures for Commercial/Items Services u nder FAR Part 12. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 811213 with size standard of $21.0 million. This requirement is for a 12-month base year contract with four (4) 12-month option periods. This is not a request for quote or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. Request for copies of a solicitation will not be honored. A determination by the government not to compete th is proposed requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
