- 17. This is a synopsis for the purpose of satisfying the requirements of the Competition in Contracting Act [Pub. Law 98-369] and FAR part 5 for technical and administrative security services. Specific technical areas include physical and technical design and evaluation of division offices, perimeter security systems, access control systems, intrusion detections systems and closed circuit television systems. The Drug Enforcement Administration [DEA] is requesting proposal from General Services Schedule 8711 service providers for engineering services or 7382 security systems specialists. The DEA intends to enter into a commercial services contract for security site services and engineering services for several facilities. The Aviation facility [Ft. Worth], Boston, Denver, Seattle, St. Louis, San Francisco, Newark and Philadelphia Divisions and all related security duties. The solicitation number is DEA-03-R-0037. The North American Industrial Code is 541330, 561612 or 561621. The Product Service Code is S211, entitled Surveillance Services. The facilities are currently under the surveillance of assigned government security officers. Generally, the facilities are located within the continental United States, Hawaii, Alaska and many US protectorates and territories, however, services may be required at non-US facility locations. From time to time equipment upgrades and/or mission changes and increased treat levels may necessitate changes by the government in the required security services. It is anticipated that a single contract with optional performance periods for these commercial surveillance and physical and operational security services will be issued. The period of performance will include a base year and four [4] one [1] year option periods. The performance period is from October 1, 2003 through September 30, 2008. Interested offerors are reminded that proposals are being requested from current General Services Schedule service providers only and are due August 28, 2003 at 4:00 PM eastern daylight savings time.
