- Description
- NA The TACOM-TARDEC Ground Vehicle Simulation Laboratory (GVSL) has a requirement for real-time ground platform modeling and simulation software for use in engineering evaluations of off-road vehicles. The GVSL will utilize the software for simulations invo lving embedded components ?????? operators, hardware, and/or software. The simulations will be used in evaluations that consider platform, subsystem, and component performance measures in the areas of dynamic stability, handling, mobility, vibration, acce leration, braking, component load prediction, fuel consumption/power management, and human factors. The models are intended to be used for design trade study comparisons and for absolute performance predictions. The GVSL seeks to replicate the influence of component design on system level behavior in order to perform engineering trade anaylsis. Commercial software packages used for the analysis of vehicle dynamic behavior are insufficient: general purpose methods carry a run-time penalty that limits the level of model resolution and the highly optimized methods present difficulty in model/equati on construction making specific vehicle adaptation difficult. The GVSL seeks highly optimized methods with automated assistance in model/equation construction, as well as making substantial improvements in performance over current real-time solutions by using computing technology to preprocess the problem into a form that is efficient in the execution phase. Additionally, the GVSL seeks to employ novel model creation techniques that use automated methods to produce real-time models from high-resolution, non real-time multibody models, and advancements in developing t he means by which subsystem models created using different modeling tools may be used. A cost plus fixed fee level of effort, three year contract is expected to be awarded under this effort. A e-proposal conference will be included in the solicitation. NOTE: All contractors must be registered in the Central Contract Registry (CCR) prior to receiving an award ?????? see web-site www.ccr.gov for detail on CCR.
