- Description
- The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) intends to negotiate with TherImmune Research Corporation of Gaithersburg, Maryland on a sole source basis to extend the current contract, N01-ES-75409, for approximately ten (10) months in order to complete ongoing research and short term investigations which are experienced on a recurring basis. Specifically, the contract, as extended , will conduct sperm cell and vaginal cytolgy evaluations (SCVCE) on perishable samples for approximately sixteen (16) studies. The extension will allow for continuing evaluation of reproductive assessment procedures for future requirements. Further, under the extension NIEHS will conduct research on behalf of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), complete on-going studies of the reproductive toxicities of AIDS drug combination therapies, and convert existing data bases to be compatible with Oracle. Added:Authority: 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) as set forth in FAR 6.302-1 and HHSAR 306.302-1. Inherent duplication of costs to the Government and unacceptable delays impacting upon the specific studies to be conducted make competition unfeasible. See notes No. 22 and 26.
